Ceramic Coating
Ceramic Coating: What it is & How it Works
The end result of having a Ceramic Coating on your car is similar to a screen protector on your phone. The coating is a liquid that is applied in a thin layer using a small sponge and cures over 24 hours to blend with the paint to create a hydrophobic layer of protection. Once the ceramic is cured, the car’s paint will be protected from scratches, dirt, grime, and stain marks for up to 2 or 4 years.
Before the ceramic can be applied, the paint must be thoroughly cleaned and free of imperfections, as the ceramic will be a hard layer that protects the paint in its current state. If there are swirl marks, scratches, or anything else on the paint before the ceramic is applied, it will be trapped and not able to be easily removed. This is why before the ceramic is applied, we will enhance and correct your vehicle’s paint.
Depending on the condition of the vehicle and your needs, Martin's Detailing offers two levels of paint correction:
1 Step Enhancement Polish
This will enhance your vehicle’s paint up to 75% and protected with a sealant that typically lasts up to 10 months.
Paint will be polished to reduce any light swirls and minor paint defects.
